How to Store Touch Up Paint and How Long It LastsUpdated 8 days ago

Proper storage helps your touch up paint last longer and stay effective for future use.

How to Store Touch-Up Paint

1. Seal the Bottle Tightly
Make sure the cap is fully closed to prevent air from getting in. Exposure to air can cause the paint to dry out or thicken.

2. Store in a Cool, Dry Place
Keep the paint in a temperature-controlled area between 50°F and 77°F (10°C – 25°C).
Avoid garages or areas with large temperature swings.

3. Keep Away from Sunlight and Moisture
Direct sunlight and high humidity can ruin the paint formula.

4. Shake Before Use
Paint ingredients may settle over time. Shake the bottle well before each use for best results.

5. Label for Future Reference
Write the purchase date and vehicle details on the bottle to keep track of what it’s for.

Paint Shelf Life

If stored properly:

  • Unopened paint can last up to 12 months from the order date.

  • Opened paint typically lasts 6–12 months, depending on storage conditions.
